Administrative History

Zion Natural History Association (ZNHA) is a nonprofit organization established in 1929 to support education, research, publication and other programs for the benefit of Zion National Park, Cedar Breaks National Monument, and Pipe Spring National Monument. Financial support by ZNHA members combine with the sales from our bookstores to provide the parks with approximately $600,000 in aid annually. The educational arm of ZNHA is the Zion Canyon Field Institute (ZCFI) which provides dozens of hands-on one-to three-day seminars each year. The fundraising division of ZNHA is the Zion National Park Foundation. The foundation is the official fundraising partner of Zion National Park. The retail operations of ZNHA fund the overhead of the foundation, making it possible for more than 90 percent of Foundation-generated funds to go directly to important projects in Zion National Park. In 2017, ZNHA consolidates its organization to become the Zion National Park Forever Project. Retail, Education and Philantrhopy now fall under one umbrella.
