Scope and Contents

A collection of the Red Hills Reviewers scrapbooks, retrieved by Kate Gentry, Marilyn Wenzel, and Audrey Shumway, containing the constitution and by-laws of the club, members, programs of each year, photos of the meetings and activities, newspaper clippings, and summaries of the meetings. These scrapbooks cover most of the years 1953-2018, excluding the 2016-2018 seasons and some early years. Meetings were held in members' houses located in the Washington County area. Special events and parties like their annual Christmas dinner and friends session were also held in the Washington County area.

Biographical / Historical

Previously named Alice Louise Reynolds, Chapter 17, changed to Red Hills Reviewers in 1971, it was a book club comprised of women living in Washington County who met bi-weekly to review books of a certain theme each year. Their seasons were from September-May each year, starting in the '50s-2018.
