Scope and Contents

Oral histories play a particualrly important role in Mormon communities as a way to transfer the lived expereinces of community builders, pioneers, and the Mormon traditions of preserveing family history and legacy.

This set of files are transcriptions from cassette tapes by Georgene Evans or other unnamed transcriber. Tapes are sourced from various collections including Voices of Remembrance, Douglas Alder (acting as interviewer), or local sources and people such as Inez Spendlove.

Transcriptions discuss peoples lives, work, history, and participation in the Southern Utah Community.

Unless otherwise specified, the transcriptions were completed by Georgene Cahoon Evans.
