Scope and Contents

This collection consists of two folders of a typed draft, and handwritten notes and interviews for the Dixie College: 75 Years of Growth section in the 1987 Confederate yearbook produced by Dixie College. The published 35-page section commemorates the 75th anniversary or the Diamond Jubilee of the college. The section was compiled by Edwin F. Rogers with help from Edna Gregerson, Lloyd Colvin, Andrew Karl Larson, and Delmar Gott. There are multiple, unidentified authors in the handwritten notes folder. The typed draft is an early version, with heavy edit markings throughout.

Biographical / Historical

Dixie College: 75 Years of Growth was compiled by Edwin F. Rogers, an Associate Professor of Communications. The two main sources of information used were Lloyd W. Colvin’s masters thesis, and Edna Gregerson’s doctoral dissertation. Several interviews with faculty members, and historical documents were also utilized in the creation.
