Sigma Iota Chi scrapbook
Scope and Contents
This collection contains one scrapbook prepared by the club members of Sigma Iota Chi at Dixie State College between 1968 and 1970. It is made of construction paper with items attached with adhesive and photograph corners.
There are photographs, flyers, activities notices, invitations, baby cards, baby shower items, sister sorority Christmas cards, newspaper clippings, 1969 fiscal year-end activity letter, January 1969, Vol. 57, Number 1 Newsletter called “The Parchment of Sigma Iota Chi” which is published bi-annually by the National sorority, and miscellaneous photographs and memorabilia. These materials cover several events, including Rush Weeks, Hell Weeks, Homecomings, Christmas parties, pledge announcements, and acceptance letters.

Biographical / Historical
“The Sigma Iota Chi does service projects. Planning social events and campus activities is the main function of Sigma Iota Chi. These women are chosen on the basis of high moral as well as academic achievement. It is a service organization involved with community and school problems. Sigma Iota Chi is an international sorority, and is dedicated to fellowshipping and to loyalty to the school as well as to one another.” (Dixie Confederate, 1975 yearbook, p. 104.) The Sigma Iota Chi club is represented in the yearbooks from 1968 to 1977.
