Abstract

This collection consists of papers collected in two original ledger books, photocopies and fifteen original receipt books from St. George Stake Academy and Stake Academy Board documenting the building of the St. George Stake Academy 1908-1911. An original ledger from the Justice of the Peace with the student's records are also included. The collection contains the history of the St. George Stake Academy in St. George, Utah from 1908-1935.

Abstract

The Charles Bigelow scrapbooks consists of Charles Bigelow’s newspaper clippings from 1907-1932. The newspapers include Los Angeles and San Francisco, California; Salt Lake City, Utah; and Phoenix, Arizona papers, among others. Many of the articles are written by Bigelow extolling the value of tourism and good roads throughout the southwest United States.

Irma Thomas Downwinder Collection

Abstract

Irma Thomas materials related to her activism in the 1950s to 1980s to call attention to the hazards of radiation exposure from above-ground atomic bomb testing at the Nevada Test Site on citizens in Southern Utah called "Downwinders." The collection consists primarily of Thomas' notes, correspondence, writings, activist group meetings, research, legal documents, and a large collection of newspaper and magazine articles.
